It has been clear for some time now that the so-called "super delegates" will cast the votes that decide the Democratic nominee for President in the 2008 election. So all you Colorado Dems out there need to get busy and let these folks (see below) know how you feel.
UPDATE: removed home phone numbers
UPDATE: Joan Fitz-Gerald resigned from the DLCC last year when she announced her run for CO-2. It appears her place as a super delegate will be taken by a delegate to be selected at the state convention in May.

Here's a copy of the letter I sent to Pat Waak. Use it as you see fit.
Dear Ms Waak:
I am writing today to encourage you to support Barack Obama for President of the United States, in your capacity as a "super delegate" to this summer's National Convention from Colorado. To that end, I'd like to tell you my own story of support for Barack.
Going back to last fall, I had seen the man on television several times. I had read the speeches and heard about the enormous crowds he was drawing at campaign stops. I knew he was a great speaker and campaigner, and I liked the substance of what he had to say. More than anything else, I liked what I perceived to be his tremendous leadership ability. However, some things have to be experienced personally to be truly felt.
On Super Tuesday, we struggled for the better part of an hour to get to Grandview High School, our caucus location (it's about 20 minutes away under normal circumstances). Once we got to Grandview, a large school with equally large parking lots, I had to drop my wife and daughter off and hunt for a place to park. Where I finally parked the car was probably not legal, but I figured it was not so flagrant as to get me towed away.
Inside the school it really hit me how extraordinary the turnout was. Our little precinct had 67 voters, easily ten times the previous turnout according to some of the old-timers there. We heard that the last time the party had done caucuses at Grandview, everybody fit in the cafeteria. In 2008 we took over about half the school.
Statewide the turnout was roughly 120,000, compared to 15,000 in 2004.
In our precinct, we selected as an Obama delegate to our county convention a Cherry Creek High School senior, who couldn't have been more than a few months older than 18. The enthusiasm for Obama among the younger generation holds great promise for the future of the Democratic Party.
Pat, this has been happening all across the country, and I believe Barack Obama's leadership and message are largely responsible for it. He has energized people young and old, of every ethnicity and walk of life, not to mention a significant number of independents and even Republicans. This has been proven over and over, in state after state, by exit polling. Barack truly does have the ability to bring all the people together, and by working together we can once again have a government of the people, by the people, and for the people.
We have a chance, in the November election, to set a new and better course for our nation, and to start we need to elect Barack Obama - but before we can elect him, he has to become the nominee. It is becoming clearer every day that the Democratic "super delegates" like yourself will cast the deciding votes in the nominating process, and so I urge you to give serious consideration to Barack Obama as you make up your mind in the coming weeks.
Thank you very much!
